Justin Bieber WILL take paternity test (but he's got to light up the Empire State Building for Christmas first!)

By AMELIA PROUD

Spreading the magic: Justin Bieber was delighted to switch on the Christmas Lights at the Empire State Building in New York today

The paternity lawsuit has been quietly dropped, but the baby drama involving Justin Bieber isn't quite over yet.

The 17-year-old singer will still take a DNA test to disprove paternity charges thrown against him by 20-year-old Mariah Yeater once and for all.

But before he tackles that unsavoury matter, the Canadian superstar had the more pleasant task of switching on the Christmas lights at the Empire State Building in New York.

Beating the chill: Bieber kept himself warm at the ceremony in a woolly hat and double denim

A relaxed Justin look smiley and festive - in a woolly hat - as he performed the prestigious honour that is all over in the flick of a switch.

That's how long Yeater claimed it took to conceive her son with the star following his October 2010 concert at LA's Staples Centre, when she was 19 and he was 16.

But has always denied that he is the father of Tristyn Anthony Markhouse, and is prepared to put his genes where his mouth is.

Yeater abruptly withdrew her paternity suit against Bieber this week and was dropped by her own attorneys.

Picture of innocence: And Justin is prepared to prove it

Bieber's publicist told E! News the singer still plans to take DNA test, which Leving says Yeater also wants, to hold 'those involved with bringing this suit accountable for their actions.'

Bieber denied the allegations from the start, insisting the story was 'completely made up' and that he had never even met Yeater.

The Baby Baby star has no intentions of reaching a settlement with Yeater, according to his team

And her case may fall apart even further following a new set of text messages released by the celebrity website TMZ.

Mugshot: Mariah Yeater has dropped her lawsuit against Bieber but still wants DNA test, as does he

'Pleeease ERASE ALL MESSAGES from my mom where she says Tristyn is Robbie's Son,' reads a message allegedly sent from Yeater to a friend on Wednesday. 'I'll kick u when we get paid. I'm trusting you pleeease.'

In another text, Yeater allegedly names the most likely candidate for the title of Tristyn's father: 'Would you please stress to Robbie how important it is for him to be in his son's life?'

Yeater also faces a trial next month on a misdemeanor battery charge filed against her last December claiming she slapped 18-year-old Robbie during a dispute.
