Weary Ashton Kutcher goes without his wedding ring as he posts bizarre video about ‘the state of truth’

By HOLLY THOMAS

Peculiar: Ashton Kutcher has taken to new social networking site Chime. In to post a video about a lack of of honesty in the media

The last few weeks have been rife with speculation as to the state of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore's marriage after the 33-year-old's alleged affair on their six-year wedding anniversary.

Following a public furore over his reported fling, the Two And A Half Men star has filmed a bizarre video addressing what he perceives as 'The status of truth' in the media.

In the film, posted on new social network site Chime. In, Ashton- who is not wearing his wedding ring- makes a plea for greater 'honesty' in the press.

Retort? Aston's message follows a media furore after his alleged affair with 22-year-old Sara Heal on his and Demi Moore's sixth wedding anniversary

'I just wanted to open up a little dialogue on the state of honesty. The state of truth. The status of truth as it pertains to literature and media,' the star says.

'Because publishers had a limited amount of inventory, publishers held great scrutiny over what they would be willing to print -- they were the gatekeepers of the truth,' he continues.

'If it seemed like something wasn't the truth, they wouldn't print it because their reputation was on the line,' Ashton postulates.

Have times changed? Ashton says that publishers cared more about printing the truth in the past

The actor follows with an explanation of how he seems to perceive the media at present.

'When the cost structure comes down on printing... the level of honesty of literature started to plummet, the integrity of literature started to plummet because it was so easy to do'

'I started thinking about that in relation to media and social media today where the threshold to actually have literature printed and distributed, the cost threshold is zero dollars. Thereby there is no gatekeeper of the truth,' Aston declares.

Unfortunate: Ashton has recently appeared in a new Nikon camera commercial, in which he flirts with models in scenes which mirror stories of his alleged fling

Poignant: the young models are keen to grab Ashton's attention

The final shot of the advert could be said to imitate Kutcher's reported affair, when he allegedly invited a group of women to party with him in his suite, while wife Demi Moore was thousands of miles away in New York.

A Kabbalah devotee, Ashton is said by Radar Online to have apologised for his behaviour to his wife and the pair are said to be trying to patch things up.

Not long after the Leal story broke, the couple were spotted spending the day at the Cachuma Lake camp ground near Santa Barbara, accompanied by the couple's Kabbalah instructor Yehuda Berg and Kutcher's friend Eric Buterbaugh.
